Marvel is seemingly taking the first steps towards giving Avengers: Endgame a massive Oscars push. The President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has finally responded to Martin Scorsese’s recent comments about superhero films. Speaking first in Empire magazine, Scorsese likened the Marvel and DC Comics films to theme park rides, stating he did not think such movies constituted real cinema. Many directors have come out on both sides of the issue since Scorsese’s original comments, with Roland Emmerich agreeing with him while others, much of them having been part of Marvel’s universe themselves, disagreed....

Ahead of the upcoming Black Widow feature film, Taskmaster is getting his own Marvel comics series! Taskmaster #1 by Jed MacKay and Alessandro Vitti, will center on the highly adaptable mercenary on the run from the law and wanted for the murder of SHIELD agent Maria Hill. Taskmaster must now clear his name before he’s hunted down by heroes and spies alike. Details are pretty scarce at this point, but the solicitations mention Taskmaster will tangle with the greatest spies in the world as he struggles to prove his (relative) innocence in the murder of Maria Hill....

The Marvel Studios’ WandaVision TV show release date is officially changed to 2020, with the series now set to arrive earlier than expected. At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige unveiled the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 slate, which includes a handful of movies and, for the first time ever, television series. The TV shows are being created as Disney+ exclusives, with the first being The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Fall 2020, followed by WandaVision in Spring 2021....

New Warriors writer and potential showrunner Kevin Biegel takes to Twitter to announce that work has officially started on the series. Earlier this month, Squirrel Girl fans got some incredible news - the Unbeatable Doreen Green will be heading up her own TV series: New Warriors. The series, about the same-named group of young Marvel heroes, is going to be a more teen/young adult approach to the superhero genre for TV, with the stars balancing their life’s “firsts” (first jobs, first loves) with their attempts to become superheroes....

The Shang-Chi movie may be further along in development than anyone realized, as there is evidence to suggest that the film is gearing up to be produced in Australia. Shang-Chi is a martial arts hero who debuted in the ’70s in the pages of Master of Kung Fu, as Marvel had failed to acquire the rights to the Kung-Fu television series and decided to create their own similar property. Shang-Chi has made sporadic appearances over the years and even managed to acquire superpowers after being exposed to cosmic radiation, which allowed him to create copies of himself....

Kumail Nanjiani has entered talks to star in Marvel’s The Eternals movie. Created by Jack Kirby in the mid-1970s, The Eternals comic books revolve around a race of semi-immortal and super-powered beings known as the Eternals, as well as their not-so-lovely relatives the Deviants. Marvel Studios was first rumored to be working on an Eternals film for its Marvel Cinematic Universe almost exactly a year ago, with the plan being to release the movie as part of Phase 4....

MediaTek today announced its new Helio chipset — the P10. The octa-core chipset comes with comes Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz and a dual-core Mali-T860 GPU. It is the first chipset from MediaTek to be based on TSMC’s 28nm HPC+ fabrication process that allows for reduced power consumption. MediaTek boasts that the fabrication process along with “numerous architecture and circuit design optimisation” help the Helio P10 in saving up to 30% more power compared to existing chipsets that are based on the 28nm HPC process....
